For those reasons and factoring in the cost of this pricey knife.. I gave it 4 stars.

First off if you are not use to carrying a knife every day don't get an expensive knife right of the bat if you lose it you feel like crap and you don't have a backup. Get a couple of good inexpensive ones first like, Spyderco Centofante 3, Kershaw Chill, or Kershaw Skyline All of which I have carried for over 5 years. After a while go for the Benchmade 940, Microtech, or Zero Tolerance.

No one else offers this steel. Their Mule Team program is also pretty cool, again, no other company does anything like that.

Other steels surpass it in certain areas but VG10 is just a good, well-rounded blade steel. I'm not one to go gaga over what super steel is the in thing of the day. VG10 works for me. No knife is perfect but I gotta give this one 5 stars

Rivets instead of screws. This goes back to quality. I find that the screws are better because if anything gets loose, it can be tightened back up. 4

Might I also add that with this weight and intended use the spine lock and heavy jimping seem a little unnecessary but do add to the coolness factor.

It is shaped something like a small Japanese Santoku knife. The handle is titanium (also corrosion resistant). I have used the knife for food preparation and it works well. The knife came sharp and has held its edge well

The knife is made in Seki City, Japan. That isn't a con by any means. VG-10 is a Japanese steel and the majority of the cost here is in the blade steel. Some of my nitpicks are the overall finish on the knife, mainly the handle
