I wouldn't trust the lock to hold under great strain, but this knife isn't for those kinds of jobs. Great knife; a pocket-sized (and weighted) 110

 1) small in size as mentioned above ( but still large enough for reasonable use) 2) light weight 3) very slim profile 4) not "tactical" looking 5) US made This turns out to be harder than one might imagine. Knives tend to be too large, or too military looking for polite use, or most dreadfully made "offshore". Enter the "55". I have long been a fan of buck knives and have a deep respect for the fact that they manage to produce a high quality product in the US while keeping their prices very reasonable

 The good news is that the knife arrived and fits my parameters perfectly; it is small, light, handsome with brass bolsters and polished rose wood scales, but alas the blade was completely dull. I am not a stickler for the sharpness of a knife when it arrives, as I have high standards for sharpness and also understand that you need to be willing to work with a blade over its life. However the 55 that I receive appeared unfinished, the blade seems to have received the the first shaping grind, but none of the subsequent polishing or sharpening grinds, I had to work for 20 minutes on a grinding stone to get the primary bevel in place and another 10 minutes of work before it would cut paper. Once that happened the knife was perfect, I was just a bit surprised and disappointed that this one snuck out the door of the buck factory essentially as an unfinished item

 Like it's big brother, the 55 is superb workmanship, and incredibly sharp. It's very lightweight, but also striking in simplicity and beauty. I find myself not wanting to have this in my pocket everyday, but on occasion, so as not to age it too quickly, but then again, at only around $30, it's easily replaced. I can't say this any more positively than this: If you need a single blade, locking pocket knife, sharp enough to skin deer or whatever, buy this knife! You will love it!

I like the knife, however fit and finish on the scales could be better. The blade arrived with a burr, almost seems like they didn't finish sharpening it.

The popular 0562 from Zero Tolerance and Rick Hinderer now has a Titanium Handle. The 0562TI also offers a premium CPM 20CV steel blade with Rick's exclusive Hinderer "slicer" Grind.  Okay, YouTubers, now we have what I consider a worthy Zero Tolerance 0393 model to review. This ZT-0393 is based on the Hinderer Eclipse model with a Harpoon Spanto blade. I have kind of a combination and it also has the working finish, so let me go ahead and bring out the working finish just so you can kind of see how it compares. They're pretty similar

 No problem with the manufacturer of them, they are just that design. I literally want somebody, if you make it this far in the video, I want somebody to give me a good use case for why these would be better than just covering the whole thing. Because the scales that I had to put on, they solve all the problems. They solve the problems of like, you know, backside flipping with your finger, just because it keeps your hands off that lock bar

 Okay, we are going to swap out these crappy ass carbon fiber scales, they're not crappy because of the construction of them, just because of the design with these swoops here, leaving exposed the working finish, especially when they moved to the working finish version of this, versus the standard satin blade, and I think it was blackened here, but this just looks a little bit dorky, so we're going to swap this guy out, I'm obviously going to need a T8 on the pivot here, and T6 for the other little hardware stuffs, and we will go ahead and swap this guy out, I will jump into some fast forward mode here.
