Despite clearly having worked hard to comply with the letter of the law, I really can't have something on me that screams weapon quite like this does. Sigh.

What makes this knife so pricey is the fantastic blade steel and "Made in U.S.A" status. Overall unless you have to have an American made Knife I would look at their Taiwanese and Japanese or even Chinese made knives first if you can get over the inferior materials

So, yeah, there are better knives. There are bigger knives. There are better looking, more elegant knives. But for what you pay for it, and what you get in terms of design and build quality, this is a great value

you get great steel for the price too, for such a large blade in S30V, compared to some other companies using S30V in their blades *cough* Benchmade *cough*, you get much more of the premium steel for the blade and the blade is pretty dang chunky compared to the other Spyderco mainstays like the Delica/Endura. The blade comes uncomfortably sharp from the factory and being that its S30V, it will be moderately easy to keep it that sharp. Ive cut myself already on this blade.
